Gate of Noor is a tablet writing companion for the Quran. This page explains, in plain language, what we store and what we don't.

Your handwriting stays on your device

Every stroke you write is saved only in your browser, on the device you're using. We never see it, and it never leaves your device — not even if you save your progress to an account.

If you save your progress

Gate of Noor is free for everyone with no account. If you choose to save your progress (a paid membership), we store the following on our servers so it follows you to other devices:

• Your email address
• Which ayahs you've completed
• Your writing streak
• The date you started
• Your app settings (ink colour, guide opacity, and similar preferences)

Payment

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. If you delete your account, future membership billing is cancelled. Stripe keeps payment and invoice records required for financial and legal purposes.

Delete your account

You can delete your account inside the app from Account → Delete account and cloud data, or use the public account deletion page. After email verification, deletion removes your saved cloud progress, streak, start date, synced settings, membership cache, and active Gate of Noor sign-in sessions. Handwriting stored locally on your devices remains on those devices.

For security, we retain a one-way account revocation marker for up to 366 days so deleted sign-in tokens cannot be reused. Short-lived email and IP rate-limit records may remain for up to one hour. These records are used only to prevent abuse and cannot restore your deleted progress. Stripe retains the payment and invoice records described above.

Signing in with Google

If you choose to sign in with Google, we only receive your verified email address from Google — nothing else from your Google account.

No tracking

We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or any third-party tracking of any kind.

The Quran text and its English translation are provided by Quran.com.
